The University Interdisciplinary Colloquium (UIC) is a forum, organized by C4I and sponsored by CAL, that highlights the innovative and important interdisciplinary work involving the arts and humanities at MSU. Interdisciplinarity at major research universities is often code for well-funded, complex science, but some of the best and most influential interdisciplinary work reflects an appreciation for aesthetic and humanistic dimensions of human experience, broadly construed. The UIC is an attempt to acknowledge and amplify interdisciplinary contributions that feature aesthetic and humanistic elements. It meets every other week during fall and spring semesters from noon to 1:00 pm on Fridays.
